Please read carefully:

This RoDARS application is to be completed if a Street Event permit is required, if you are planning to temporarily close the street fully or partially to occupy a curblane, sidewalk or boulevard for a race, run, walk or festival.
The completed application with all required documents must be submitted prior to the event date at least:

  • 8 weeks for Local Road
  • 12 weeks for Collector Road
  • 16 weeks for Arterial Road
  • 52 weeks for Expressway

Any changes to the time and space occupied after approval must be requested, using the Minor Amendment button that appears once your application is approved. This includes early completions! This RoDARS application is for events that require a Street Event permit. The applicant will submit the RoDARS application (without requesting permit issuance) and notify Street Permits with the RoDARS ID to initiate the Street Event permit process. Street Permits will be the final point of contact for these applications. Please review the below and confirm here by selecting “Yes” (mandatory) “I agree having reviewed the Public Health Guidelines for the service/selling and/or preparation of food and have submitted an event notification form, through the link here” (using the link https://www.toronto.ca/community-people/health-wellness-care/health-programs-advice/food-safety/food-safety-at-special-events/). Event organizers are to upload approval forms from Public Health once they are received.
If alcoholic beverages are sold or consumed within the portion(s) of the public right-of-way, the applicant will be required to:

  1. a. Submit a written confirmation of approval by City Council (liquorlicence@toronto.ca / 416-392-7036) and the Licensing and Registration Department of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO - 416-326-8700); and
  2. serve alcoholic beverages in a contained area (ie. Barricades/tents) subject to AGCO requirements, www.agco.on.ca.

A list of the scheduled events and a site plan showing the location, emergency lane (with dimension), setback and dimensions of any equipment or furniture placed within the public right of way.
A copy of the Notice circulated to the area residents and occupants to inform them of the event

Applicant must arrange with a commercial supplier to provide traffic barricades and signs for the event. The barricades and signs must be placed in accordance with the specifications outlined in "Temporary Conditions" of the Ontario Traffic Manual Book No. 7.

A completed Release, Waiver and Indemnity form as participation will be required by an entrant or competitor in an event held within the road closure.

A summary document of the pre-event, event and post-event logistics must be provided (e.g. details relating to police arrival & deployment, road closure implementation, provision of washrooms and waste & recycling stations, Emergency Services Coordination, vendor operation timelines, event start and end times, etc). Provide evidence of $2 million liability insurance with the City identified as an additional insured, or as required by the City
